Managed daily operations and overall strategy for Casa Wayak, a charming family-run backpacker-style hostel in central Cancún (opened 2017 by Mr. Edgar and family, converted from a home into a welcoming lodge with garden, hot tub, shared kitchen, and tranquil vibe near Market 28 and bus station).

Oversaw two properties, recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating a small team of young volunteers to support guest services. Implemented and configured multiple PMS (Little Hotelier, BananaDesk) and OTA integrations (Hostelworld, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Expedia…), set up payment gateways (Stripe, etc.), seasonal rates, and pricing strategies.

Launched the official website from scratch, digitized outdated paper-based processes into organized front desk systems, created automated guest welcome messages, and improved breakfast menu for better traveler satisfaction. Coordinated housekeeping schedules, monitored online reviews/responses, prepared income/occupancy/payment reports, and focused on high customer experience – helping travelers enjoy easy beach access and a relaxed, community-oriented stay in Cancún’s vibrant downtown.

  5. Guest Experience & Review Management – Enhanced breakfast offerings, monitored/responded to reviews, and ensured high satisfaction with personalized, traveler-focused service.
